I belong to a few different prayer lists. When I get information about people, I put them up on my prayer wall and do healing ceremonies. I sing to the names and pictures and send them good energy.

I recently heard about a six year old boy named Ben. He has a health challenge that I am positive he can overcome. This challenge involves his mitochondria not working together right. I visualize his mitochondria coming back into balance. I was inspired to create a superhero for him and his mitochondria – Motochondria Man. (Insert heroic music here)

If we all gave 10 small smiles and miniature kind acts to other people that all adds up to a better world around us. It doesn’t take much time or effort. It is as simple as looking at someone who is not acknowledging you and saying “hello”. Two out of 100 of those people will look at you weird. The rest will be so happy that you saw them. In this world of busy overwhelm, people love to be acknowledged. Simply acknowledged.

This is brought up because I keep seeing how small things can make such a big difference. I was rollerblading today and I saw a group of runners run by me. One of the handsome young men gave me a big, kind smile and a thumbs up. I have no idea why he did this, but, that doesn’t matter. It brightened my day in a large way. It took him almost no effort to do this – 1/10th of a calorie burned in lifting his arm to make the thumbs up gesture and smile.

So, a person is merely one of billions of people on earth. A very small fraction. Yet, if one does what they can to heal their being and bring joy to their spirit. The world is 1/6 billionth happier

The vision of him came to me on a sparklingly magical New Years Eve of 2008.
I was in the forest behind my house. On this night, I did a long healing ceremony for the entire world. In the course of this ceremony I worked with the tobacco spirit and some other teacher plants.

It was very cold, just after midnight, and about 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 Celsius), so I said my prayers as I walked through the woods to keep my blood moving. The snow was piled high on the branches. As I walked, I realized that there are so many things woven into and in between the fabric of all things. I saw a multitude of creatures and spirits within and surrounding these piles of snow. They all beamed their love into me. They are all beaming their love into all of us all the time. It was awe inspiring, stunningly beautiful. I felt so sublimely blessed to have the capacity to see and know such beauty. (In this image, the space around Tobacco Spirit’s head is my attempt to represent these beings)

The vision of Tobacco Spirit stayed in my head for about 7 months. He kept poking at me to create him until I came across the term “Move everything from your “To-Do” list to your calendar (Thank You Jack Canfield!), and I moved him to a certain date and he finally came out of me. It was a difficult birth, but in the end I am very happy with the representation. He is also very happy.

He told me that someone would love the price of $33,338.38 to purchase him. I told him that this seemed like a lot of money and he said that the person that truly respects and honors him and his spirit would be overjoyed to purchase the original creation of him for such a small amount of money.

He wants to be available to more than one person, so I have made Giclee and Ink jet prints available also.

More about me and tobacco… I began smoking when I was around 16. I never smoked a lot, but it became too expensive about 15 years ago and I had quit. Like many ex-smokers, I could no longer stand the taste or smell of tobacco. When I went to Peru in early 2008,  to work with and learn from indigenous shamans, I realized that it was a kind of prerequisite to utilize tobacco while practicing there. You didn’t really have to do it, but it was an important part of the process. You smoke (but do not inhale) “mapachos” which are like very strong, unfiltered cigarettes. As I have done healing work on people with these, they say they usually don’t like tobacco smell, but they like the smell of these.

It was very difficult to make friends with Tobacco again, but I did, and as I continue to work with him I find him so amazing. The Tobacco Spirit has truly helped me so much in the course of many ceremonies in Peru and since I have returned. Now it is time for him to help you.

Tobacco has been used by a multitude of societies throughout history for offerings and ceremony. Trees and plants love it when you make an offering to them by sprinkling him around their feet.

Continue being magnificent…

I saw tiny and huge details of life. Taking a breath, a molecule moving from one place to another in your body, a breeze passing by, a dog barking, storms passing, the flickering of a candle flame, blood flowing through veins, time taken to rest, feeling deep love for another, the sadness of losing a loved one, seeing the wind fill a bird’s wings, and much more. All of this was achingly beautiful.

They were telling me that everything you do or do not do matters. It is all important. Every moment. And that it is all right. It is all part of you exquisitely going down the exact path you have chosen to grow your spirit.

Here is the goal:
I have purchased at least one million acres of rain forest land in South America, and set it up to be protected forever.
I like to write my goals in present tense because that gives huge energy to their actually happening.

I love the rain forest, the earth, and people. The protection of the rain forest represents the care taking and protection of the human race. Rain forests are so important to us in so many ways.

Now, I don’t currently have millions and millions of dollars to purchase the land and preserve it, but, I realized that I can do other things to help protect and preserve it NOW.

I will start by sharing a distilled and condensed list of what you can do easily for free or little money to save the rainforest right now.

Some of these will EASILY save you $$$ MONEY $$$!
In Your Home

-Recycle everything you can.
-Use phosphate-free laundry and dish soaps.
-Use cold water in the washer whenever possible. I always use cold water, and my clothes come out perfectly clean. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Use your hands when something can be done easily by hand (like opening a can). ($$ Money saver $$)
-Re-use bread bags, butter tubs, etc. You do not need to buy expensive storage containers at the store anymore! ($$ Money saver $$)
-Store food in re-usable containers, instead of plastic wrap or aluminum foil. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Take unwanted, re-usable items to a charitable organization or thrift shop.
- Turn off the water when you do not need it. Also, a very simple one: keep the flow lower if you don’t need it blasting out of the faucet. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Install a water-saving shower head. ($$ Money saver $$ – This costs you money to buy at first, but saves on the water bill later.)
-Turn your water heater down as low as possible. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Have your water heater insulated by your utility company – should be free. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Call your utility company – most will do a free check to see where you are losing energy on your home. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Turn the heat down and use a space heater in the rooms you are in the most. ($$ Money saver $$)

In Your Yard

-Start a compost pile. ($$ Money saver $$) Compost for free!
-Pull weeds instead of using herbicides. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Compost your leaves and yard debris, or take them to a yard debris recycler. (Burning them creates air pollution, and putting them out with the trash wastes landfill space.)
-Use mulch to conserve water in your garden.
-Plant short, dense shrubs close to your home’s foundation to help insulate your home against cold. ($$ Money saver $$)

While on Vacation

-Turn down the heat and turn off the water heater before you leave. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Carry reusable cups, dishes, and flatware. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Build smaller campfires, and make sure they’re completely out when you leave.
-Stay on the trail. Respect the fragile undergrowth.

In Your Car

-Keep your car tuned well.
-Carpool, as often as possible. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Use public transit when possible. ($$ Money saver $$)
-On weekends, ride your bike or walk instead. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Buy a more fuel efficient car when ready.
-Recycle your engine oil.
-Keep your tires properly inflated to save gas. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Keep your wheels properly aligned to save your tires. ($$ Money saver $$)

-Recycle office and computer paper, cardboard, etc. whenever possible.
-Use scrap paper for informal notes to yourself and others. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Print things like in-house memo pads, etc., on recycled paper.
-Print or copy on both sides of the paper. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Use smaller paper for smaller memos. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Re-use manila envelopes and file folders. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Hide the throw-away cups, and train people to use their washable coffee mugs. ($$ Money saver $$)
-Use the stairs instead of the elevator on trips of less than three floors… it’s better for you too.
Shopping

-You see two kinds of lettuce at the store – one is in a plastic box, the other has no packaging. You can choose to purchase the one without packaging. Even if you end up using a plastic bag for that unpackaged lettuce, you are still not giving money to the company that is using the thick plastic box.
-Think twice about buying “disposable” products. (They really aren’t disposable and are extravagant wastes of the world’s resources.) ($$ Money saver $$)
-Check the energy rating of major appliances you purchase. Buy only the most energy-efficient models.($$ Money saver $$ Initial cost is higher, but you save money down the road) -Buy products that are manufactured, packaged, and marketed wisely.
-Buy locally-grown food and locally-made products when possible.
-Choose tree-free paper in all products when possible.
-Purchase less beef – unless you know it is local and not grown in deforested rain forest land. Cattle farming is now the biggest threat to the remaining Amazon rain forest. ($$ Money saver $$)

Being a green consumer involves complaining when complaining is warranted, insisting on new products and services when they don’t yet exist and buying them when they appear. It means taking action.

Product’s to AVOID if you want to help save the rain forest and earth:

Palm oil (check labels, SOME is now grown in a sustainable way)

Flowers coming from Colombia and Ecuador usually use huge amounts of pesticides.

Sneakers from Targets Nike, Timberland, Adidas, Reebok, Clark’s, and Geox until they stop growing cattle on deforested land.

Kleenex

Rayon (in fabric) production is now responsible for a large amount of rainforest clear cutting.

Soy. Check where it is grown.

Biofuel. Biofuel sounds so wonderful and “green”, but it is not good for rainforests.  Avoid purchasing it unless you know it is from a truly sustainable plantation.

I stayed with my friend Barb and her family this weekend. What a super comfy cozy house they have and what magnificent people they are! I am so blessed!

Yesterday, as I had my computer opened up and spread all over my room to install a new DVD burner I was thinking that I really wanted his innards to be like Snap-Tite models, because the whole thing took me three hours, some swearing, and a small blood sacrifice.

Here is my request to the Magnificent Computer Designer guys out there. Please make computer cases more like Snap-Tite models.

I went to a car show this weekend. There were a lot of magnificent people and cars there! I have started to really appreciate cars now. They can be so beautiful. I am excited to see what kinds of new, beautiful, and fabulously functioning hybrid cars will come out in the future.
