In the winter of 2008, I journeyed to Peru. To enable myself to go financially, I sold my hair and two Romero Britto art prints that I had earned for work for a high quality screen printer. I stayed in the rainforest for a month and worked with shamans there. This was some of the most challenging spiritual and physical work of my life, but it cleared me of huge things. I was mostly paralyzed by depression for much of my life, and that challenge is now gone. I will return to Peru often for 1-6 months to continue to nourish my practice in shamanism.
I am filled with intense creativity while in Peru, and this is one of the paintings that came out of me.
I saw these elders during my first ceremony in Peru in 2008. That is me in the foreground. The elder whose hand is in mine was teaching and healing me. It was beautiful.
